Children, Youth & Families
At CTS we believe two things are true:
Children & Youth are an important and valued part of the worshipping community. Their presence is not just tolerated but essential.
They deserve spaces and teaching tailored just for them.
So we take a both/and approach — we have options for kids to be part of worship in the sanctuary AND offer age-specific education options during and after worship. You choose what is the best fit for your family. Come experience it for yourself!
-
Every Sunday, right after the Children’s Message, kids ages 3 - 3rd grade are invited to Godly Play Children’s Chapel. Songs, prayer, and story response activities are led by our Children, Youth & Family Minister and parent helpers. Kids return the santuary before communion.
-
A time to learn together through service, games, art, and bible study. Held on the 1st Sunday of the month, after worship service, for an hour.
-
Open to any and all middle or high schools students who are ready to explore what it means to affirm their baptism and make their own commitment of faith. Two-year program of quarterly classes and retreats.
-
Seasonal events, trips and service projects.
-
Childcare Staff supervised play time available for kids of all ages, following the worship service until 12:00 noon. This allows parents a chance to visit with each other at our Connections Cafe and attend the Adult Education Forum. Located in the Gym is located next to the Adult Ed room.
Adults
Lifelong faith formation focuses on spiritual growth, community, and connecting faith to daily life. Although we are all at different places in our faith journey and in our relationship with God we believe the potential is there for all of us to be both teachers and learners as we share our beliefs, experiences and methods of taking action.
-
From Bible studies, to global missions presentations, to social justice topics and more — forums vary each week and will be posted in the monthly newsletter, Sunday Bulletin, and Weekly Note. Program begins at 11:00am every Sunday and lasts about an hour. So grab a snack and a cup of coffee from the Connections Cafe and head to the far north end of the church (meeting room just beyond the kid’s gym where childcare is available) for some good conversation and fellowship!
-
Join Pastor Jana each month for an in-depth discussion about the upcoming scripture texts. Part teaching, part mutual conversation, we discover insights and inspiration as we explore what God is doing and saying to us--both personally and to our congregation/community.
-
Have you been worshiping at CTS as a guest but want to become part of this faith community? Or do you just have questions about the congregation or Lutheranism? Please contact Pr. Jana or the office to receive information about the next scheduled class.
Catch the Son Preschool
We are home to Catch the Son Preschool, which offers a Christian, high-quality early learning education for children ages three to five. The school applies a loving, play-based approach and focuses on social-emotional learning. Class sizes are small, allowing for individualized care. CTS pastors lead weekly Chapel and are available for pastoral care for families.
